Acupuncture and Therapeutic Massage

About

Acupuncture has been used for centuries by physicians to address complex diseases in humans and animals alike. This non-invasive technique can be used for a variety of ailments including pain management, lameness, allergies, endocrine disease, musculoskeletal imbalances, and much more by addressing problems directly at a nervous system level! Through manipulating nerve pathways, we are better able to reset the body and allow it to relearn healthy habits. Whether your animal is having complex medical issues or just needs a tune up to keep them spry in their old age, Dr. Cody is here to help! Massage is utilized in conjunction with acupuncture to encourage lymph drainage, muscle relaxation, and light physical therapy work to better relax your animal and their muscles.

Why Integrative Therapies?

We believe that physical medicine in conjunction with traditional medications are a wonderful non-invasive way to improve the health and wellness of our animals. Whether you have a cat, cow, dog, or horse, Dr. Cody will work to improve your animal’s quality of life through a combination of acupuncture, massage, and traditional therapeutics.

What to Expect at your appointment

During your first appointment, Dr. Cody will discuss your animal’s relevant medical history in depth with you and set a series of goals to achieve for your particular animal. She will perform a musculoskeletal and myofascial evaluation to assess muscle restrictions, range of motion of joints, and tender points on your animal. Additional information including radiographs (x-ray) and bloodwork may be performed at this time to better evaluate your animal’s condition. All of these will be used to create a personalized treatment plan to fit you and your animal’s needs as well as goals. Follow-up appointments will consist of a check-in regarding your animal’s improvements prior to starting treatment.
